{"id":141,"date":"2024-12-08T22:40:24","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T01:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pgcardiologiausp.com.br\/?page_id=141"},"modified":"2025-06-12T14:12:57","modified_gmt":"2025-06-12T17:12:57","slug":"exame-de-qualificacao","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pgcardiologiausp.com.br\/en\/procedimentos\/exame-de-qualificacao\/","title":{"rendered":"Qualifying Exam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Qualifying Exam will consist of the analysis of earned credits and the presentation of the thesis project, which must include: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Partial Results, and References.<\/p>\n<p>In the Qualifying Exam, the student may either pass or fail; no grade or score is assigned.<\/p>\n<p>A student who fails the Qualifying Exam may retake it only once and must consult the Program Regulations for the timeframe to register and complete the new exam.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Suggested Committee for the Qualifying Exam<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The suggested Qualifying Exam committee must include a total of 5 members: 3 Full Members and 2 Alternates, and must include at least one Advisor from the Program as a full or alternate member.<\/p>\n<p>The advisor and\/or co-advisor may not be part of the examining committee for the Qualifying Exam.<\/p>\n<p>The composition of the Examining Committee must be submitted by the Advisor to the CCP via email: <a href=\"mailto:pos-graduacao@incor.usp.br\">pos-graduacao@incor.usp.br<\/a>, fully completed and in Word format, at least 30 (thirty) days before the exam registration date.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Qualifying Exam Registration<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The student must check the deadline for registering for the exam (they may register early or on the date listed in the Janus system).<\/p>\n<p>The registration form must be submitted to the Program Office, specifying the desired exam registration date.<\/p>\n<p>After registration, the student will have a deadline\u2014according to the applicable regulations\u2014to complete the exam.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>For students under the Program Regulation:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Resolution 7688<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Qualifying Exam (QE) registration must occur by the time the student has reached 50% of their course duration, and the exam must be completed within 90 days of registration.<\/p>\n<p>a. Registration deadline for PhD students with a Master\u2019s degree: 24 months<br \/>\nb. Registration deadline for Direct PhD students: 24 months<\/p>\n<p>By the time of the exam, the student must have completed 50% of the total required course credits.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Resolution 8300<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Qualifying Exam (QE) registration must occur by the time the student has reached 50% of their course duration, and the exam must be completed within 90 days of registration.<\/p>\n<p>a. Registration deadline for PhD students: 24 months<br \/>\nb.
