01/07/2025On the evening of July 8, 2025, Professor Dr. Ludhmila Abrahão Hajjar, coordinator of the Cardiology Program at FMUSP, received the 2024 Faz Diferença Award – Science and Health Category – for developing a document with proposals to address drug issues and promote the humanized care of users.
A cardiologist and intensive care physician, she is currently leading research to integrate artificial intelligence into the regulation of critically ill patients. She is also heading a project to build an Intelligent Emergency Hospital in São Paulo, which may become the largest public hospital in the country.
“I feel honored because, at such a special moment like the centennial, O GLOBO recognizes science and health. As a physician, I represent thousands of Brazilians who are fighting for a better country. A country without investment in science, education, and health has no future,” she said, receiving the trophy from Adriana Dias Lopes, Health Editor, and Miguel Caballero, Print Editor at O Globo.
